Westchester County’s Popular Diverse Abilities Job Fair Draws More Than 300 Talented Job Seekers to County Center
Westchester County, New York (April 25, 2025) – Back by popular demand, Westchester County’s Diverse Abilities Job Fair returned to Westchester County Center in White Plains on April 17, drawing more than 300 talented and enthusiastic job seekers of varying abilities who were eager to learn about opportunities to work for more than 70 Westchester County employers.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “The Diverse Abilities Job Fair is a win-win for employers and job seekers. We were delighted to welcome a record number of employers and resource providers to this event and to see so many job seekers in the room. We look forward to hosting more of these events in the future.”
Westchester County Office of People with Disabilities Director Evan Latainer said, “We consistently hear from employers that the candidates who attend the Diverse Abilities Job Fair are talented individuals who would be wonderful additions to their workforce. We are proud to serve as a bridge for connecting these two groups.”
Westchester County Office of Economic Development Director Bridget Gibbons said, “Westchester County is a welcoming community that values the talents and contributions of all residents. It was great to see so many individuals come out to meet and interview with employers, and learn more about employment opportunities available in Westchester County.”
Westchester County Director of Policy and Programs, Small Business and Chambers of Commerce Shari Rosen Ascher said, “The demand to participate in the Diverse Abilities Job Fair continues to rise among employers, resource providers, and job seekers. We are grateful for the collaborations that continue to make this event wildly successful.”
Several new and returning employers and resource providers were among the 70 exhibitors who participated in the April 17 event. Returning organizations included: American Sugar Refining, The Arc Westchester, Westchester Disabled on the Move, Hearing Loss Association of America, Northwell Health, Southern Westchester BOCES, The STEM Alliance, NYPA, Westchester Medical Center, Westchester County Department of Human Resources, Westchester County Parks, and many more.
New employers and resource providers, included: New York State Unified Court System,
Westchester Library System, Westchester Children's Museum, Urban League of Westchester, and others.
