Westchester County is home to a diverse advanced manufacturing industry that produces everything from package inspection equipment and plastic fluid handling products to circuit boards and aluminum parts. Our 28 higher education institutions and award-winning public schools allow us to deliver highly skilled talent to meet the needs of this growing sector.
In addition to top talent, Westchester County offers manufactures access to a wide-range of real estate opportunities. More digitized, specialized and cleaner manufacturing processes are allowing companies to do business within a smaller footprint and we are able to meet that need, as well as provide opportunities to scale. And, our convenient location, just minutes from New York City, allows for easy access to the Port of New York and New Jersey for shipping, as well as multiple airports and freight rail service.
Westchester’s advanced manufacturing industry offers many well-paying jobs throughout the County and makes a tremendous impact on our economy.
The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Desk was established to help grow our, already substantial, footprint in this industry. The desk is a vital resource to meet the needs of our existing advanced manufacturing businesses, as well as attract new companies to Westchester. This Industry Desk is staffed by the Office of Economic Development, and supported by the Advanced Manufacturing Industry Task Force.
To help guide the continued growth of our advanced manufacturing sector and support our Advanced Manufacturing Industry Desk, we have established an industry task force. Chaired by Bridget Gibbons, the task force brings together business and industry leaders from throughout the county.
