The Westchester County Office of Economic Development offers a suite of skills training programs to help cultivate a talent pipeline for Westchester’s employers. In addition to our programs, there are a number of outstanding skills training programs available throughout the State. The following programs are currently being offered.

RPI and Westchester County are bringing the excellence of RPI programs to residents - so they can fulfill their career goals through programs that are easily accessible, flexible, and relevant. The programs are informed by Westchester County employers and designed to meet their organizational learning objectives. Our focus is to provide multidisciplinary engineering, science, business, continuing education, and professional development programs to meet the needs of residents and employers alike.

In today’s economy, digital skills are workforce skills. Connect Westchester ensures every resident can thrive in a technology-driven job market through access to affordable internet, devices, and hands-on training. A partnership between Westchester County, The STEM Alliance, and Westchester County Association, the program meets residents where they are — in libraries and community centers — offering one-on-one support and tech classes that build confidence and job readiness.
Camoin Associates, a national economic development consulting firm, recently released their study of the Connect Westchester program showing that the County’s investment in digital equity delivered more than $4 million in economic value from a $1.5 million investment. Read the study here .

The Launch1000 program was established in 2020 in response to the significant economic disruption caused by COVID-19, with the goal of enabling 1,000 Westchester residents to start a business or develop an income stream for themselves and their families. The program is designed to help residents evaluate an idea, test it with potential customers, and see if it seems likely to succeed. Free resources and support are available to all Launch1000 graduates through the Alumni Program.

SUNY offers more than 400 microcredentials in 60+ discipline areas in high-demand fields. Individuals can add verified skills and competencies to their resumes with short, flexible microcredentials from the SUNY. Whether you're rounding out your degree program or adding a new skill for career advancement or change, SUNY microcredentials can help you achieve your goals.

The Westchester County Biosciences Accelerator is a competitive entry, 6-month long program designed to provide entrepreneurship education and regional networking to seed-stage ventures developing therapeutics, diagnostics, devices, research tools, digital health and materials technology breakthroughs.
