Westchester County, New York (April 9, 2024) – The Westchester County Office of Economic Development (OED) today announced it will host a job and resource fair to support individuals who are justice-impacted on April 10th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Yonkers Public Library, 1 Larkin Center. Attendees will have access to more than 40 employers and resource providers, and the ability to attend free workshops.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “We want to assist those who seek meaningful employment as one step in redirecting their lives. We continue to hear from fair-chance employers across the County that these job fairs are connecting them with talented and hard-working individuals who have become great additions to their teams, and we are looking forward to another great event.”

New York State Attorney General Letitia James said: “Every New Yorker deserves access to the resources, training, and support that can help them find a good-paying job. I am grateful for the partnership of the Westchester County Office of Economic Development, Untapped Solutions, and all of the organizations at this job fair as we work to help justice-impacted individuals successfully re-enter the workforce. My office will continue to stand with community leaders and partners who work to ensure that all New Yorkers have a fair shot at the American dream.”

Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah said: “Employment opportunities are an essential component of rehabilitation and re-entry for justice-involved individuals. We are proud to be a partner in this effort to advance fair-chance employment, which contributes to our efforts to reduce recidivism and enhance public safety in Westchester County.”

Thanks to platforms like Untapped Solutions, the pool of Westchester companies who embrace fair-chance hiring is growing and we can connect more justice-impacted individuals to well-paying jobs. Andre Peart, Founder and CEO of Untapped Solutions, said: “This job fair is of paramount importance to us at Untapped Solutions for the opportunities it provides to the untapped community. Now, it's more than just a chance for employers to discover exceptional talent; it's an opportunity for them to witness the motivation and ambition they're missing out on, and to share this job fair experience with other business leaders in the Westchester community.”
