Westchester County Clean Energy Job and Resource Fair Returns November 19

Westchester County, New York (October 22, 2024) – The Westchester County Office of Economic Development and Sustainable Westchester announced the return of the Westchester County Clean Energy Job and Resource Fair, which will take place on November 19. This free event will feature a career fair from 2 PM to 7 PM, open to anyone interested in pursuing a career in clean energy. Attendees will connect with clean energy trainers and employers specializing in solar, heat pumps, geothermal technology, and more.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “When we convened employers and job seekers for our first Clean Energy Job and Resource Fair in April the level of interest was overwhelming. Given the ongoing excitement for this growing industry – and the number of training and employment opportunities available to individuals of all backgrounds and skills – we are thrilled to bring the event back this November.”
In addition to the career fair, there will be an exciting panel discussion, "Jumpstarting Your Clean Energy Career," led by Clean Energy Workforce Specialist Cal Trumann. It will feature industry leaders Dave Mancari of Brightcore Energy, David Ryan of IUOE Local 137, Dwayne R. Norris of Soulful Synergy, and Matthew Gibbs of AES Corporation. There will also be a "Conversation with an Expert" session spotlighting Andre Peart, CEO of Untapped Solutions, an organization committed to connecting underserved populations with employment opportunities.
Westchester County Director of Economic Development, Bridget Gibbons, said: “This event is an opportunity for all Westchester residents who have an interest in starting a career with a clean energy company to learn more about training and employment opportunities. Westchester County is fortunate to have training programs – as well as employers who are willing to train their staff – which present a tremendous opportunity for those who are looking to enter or re-enter the workforce, or transfer skills from another field.”
Sustainable Westchester’s Executive Director Noam Bramson said: “The clean energy landscape in Westchester County is rapidly expanding, opening up a wealth of employment opportunities. Yet, recruitment, hiring, and retention challenges remain pivotal hurdles for employers. This event brings together companies seeking motivated individuals aiming to embark on or pivot into clean energy careers, and resource providers equipping the workforce with essential skills. Events like the Westchester County Clean Energy Job and Resource Fair play a crucial role in ensuring that the clean energy transition is not only swift but equitable and inclusive for all.”
