Seventh International Symposium on Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma to Highlight Innovation and Research from Westchester County and Beyond
Westchester County Office of Economic Development signs on as sponsor for symposium’s Welcome Reception
Westchester County, New York (October 21, 2022) – The Westchester County Office of Economic Development (OED) today announced its support for the Seventh International Symposium on Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, which will take place October 20-23, 2022 at The Intercontinental Times Square in New York City. The OED will be sponsoring the Symposium’s Welcome Reception on Friday, October 21.
The Seventh International Symposium on Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is chaired by Mitchell S. Cairo, MD, Professor of Pediatrics, Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology and Cell Biology & Anatomy, New York Medical College, and Cancer Center Director at Westchester Medical Center. Since joining New York Medical College in 2011, Dr. Cairo has driven forward several state-of-the-art research initiatives while also enhancing the College’s hematology and oncology programs. An international leader in the field of pediatric cancer research, Dr. Cairo leads a team of researchers who are investigating novel, and potentially life-saving, strategies, including cellular therapies, to treat childhood cancer.
This is the seventh International Lymphoma Symposium chaired by Dr Cairo, an international physician-scientist in the field of lymphoma treatment and research, who has led ground breaking clinical trials that have cured sickle cell disease in children. There will be 250 attendees from 5 continents and 40 countries, 50 Faculty from around the world and over 125 scientific abstract presentations.

The Seventh International Symposium on Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is a continuing effort to create an international platform for physicians and investigators active in the treatment and research of childhood, adolescent and young adult NHL to communicate, share information, and develop future collaborative strategies. Lymphoma is the third most common cancer in children and one of the most common cancers in adolescents and young adults accounting for almost 1 in 4 cancers that occur in patients 15 to 30 years of age. This symposium is supported in part with a grant from the National Cancer Institute and is CME accredited.
